Chairman’s Report November 2023

Hello and welcome

With what you could say as being a very good year with the weather and all Anglia rallies going ahead we find that some more members are coming forward to help run rallies with committee members and with another pair of friends. That makes it so easy for Teresa and myself to have a break when we attend rallies ourselves making it easy for us to venture out into the towns of different places.

This year passed so fast as it was a year ago that Derek and Carol announced their retirement from the roles of Secretary & Treasurer giving us the committee a chance to find two people that would like to fulfil these places and carry on in the footsteps of two experienced people that have many years of knowledge for them roles.

As the year went on two Anglia members approached me with the offer of doing the two roles that were going to be vacant this AGM, with that I told the committee at a small meeting we had with three quarters of the committee being present that two members had come forward to fill the vacant spaces thus being Keith Boreham for the Treasurer role and Sandra Glendenning for the Secretary role, At this time it was august and Derek had a change of heart and was going to stay in the role as Secretary for another year hence this year we had a secret ballot for the role of Secretary to which Sandra became the victor and will take on the role of secretary.

With what was a finished rally list for 2024 three venues had to cancel our bookings for matters out of our control, that left our Rally Officer Teresa having to try her hardest to find new venue’s for the forthcoming year to accommodate the spaces in the programme that she has near managed to do at the time I write this Report.

This year after the AGM we find we have a full committee with six new members joining us with fresh anticipation on taking the group forward with new members joining the group nearly all the time thanks to the event staff at the Motorhome shows. With new faces being welcomed into the fold anglia group is getting more younger members and the word’s fun and laughter are practised at most rallies making attending them more enjoyable every time.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all old committee members for there help over the last year and the new members for this year not forgetting that every great rally is only great because you the members have helped by coming to Anglia and supporting this great Group, I take my hat off to you all Thankyou.
